I absolutely agree with you, dear Michael. The West’s constant obsession with the economy lies at the heart of the procrastination, the half-measures taken, and the disregard for human life. As in Churchill’s quote above, Nemesis “brings down all immoderate good fortune.” We have become so accustomed to our luxuries — our immoderate good fortune — that some are even willing to sacrifice lives rather than lose the luxuries!
